hey, i’m kristyn
I'm a graphic designer based in Brooklyn, NY.
Over the past 7 years, I've grown at Future Snoops from a Junior Designer to a Graphic Design Manager. In that span of time, I feel like I've grown my skill set — from just designing small template changes and color correcting as a less confident designer, to now, with all the work I've sunk into learning new tools and keeping up with changing times, doing full re-branding and design direction for that very same company. I often feel like I stumbled into my career path, but I'm grateful that I have.
In my free time, I've created stuff for Bushwick's DIY indie scene for the past four years, designing tour posters, show flyers, stickers, and album art for friends' bands like Claire Ozmun, First Nature, and Tallen + the Benevolent Entities.
Through both of these things, I've learned how a band's or a brand's visual identity needs to hold up across all facets while staying true to who they are.
Outside of a computer, I like to take craft classes. I never want to lose the human touch in my art, and practicing embroidery, crochet, or mending lets me come back to my computer with new ideas for how things can feel human. That same pull toward keeping historic craft and human touch alive is what led me to furniture refurbishing — my love of antiques and preserving history runs alongside my love of preserving these hands-on skills. I want my art to feel human, and these things are what keep it that way.
Thanks for looking!
